The Senior Accountant position will take an important role in carrying out general accounting duties for the company. This role will be responsible for tasks including but not limited to processing invoices, running accurate, timely and complete reports, and payroll processing.

 

Responsibilities

  • Completion and delivering of all income tax tasks as directed.

  • Completion and lodging of Business Activity Statements

  • General Ledger and bank reconciliations

  • Processing Payroll and responding to all payroll queries, staff rates, payslips etc

  • Accounting for Corporate Card transactions

  • Reconciliation of intercompany payments

  • Updating fixed assets register and updating depreciation schedules

  • Accounts receivable processing and raising various purchase orders and invoices for clients, plus supporting documents

  • Manage and follow up debtors by doing outbound calls

  • Accounts payable processing of invoices into MYOB using “in tray”

  • Other accounting and finance duties as directed by the CEO, GM and CFO

 

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration

  • Preferably a CPA

  • At least 1 year of accounting experience for an Australian company/client

  • Experience using MYOB or other Accounting software(s)

  • Proven experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations

  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Expert in MS Excel
